I served with Jimmie in Vietnam, he and I were in Golf Company 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines. Jim was a machine gunner from the time he arrived in VN on Hill 22, until the day he died up on the DMZ near Con Thien. Our Battalion got into a major battle, we lost 31 Marines and sailors that day killed and 118 wounded. Know as the Battle at Phi Oc. See Operation Kingfisher for more details.
Jim and I were close friends, he always had a great sense of humor.
