Donna Kirkland-Dowdy, 52, Ottawa, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at an Ottawa hospital. Mrs. Kirkland-Dowdy worked for Allied Signal, formerly King Radio, for 17 years as a solderer from 1978 to 1995. She was a sales clerk in the sporting goods department at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Ottawa from 1996 to 1998. She was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Ottawa, the daughter of Max W. Kirkland and Genevieve Louise Mealman Arb. She graduated from Ottawa High School in 1966 and was a lifelong Ottawa resident. She married Ronald H. Dowdy on April 1, 1979, in Richter. He survives. Other survivors include her mother, Genevieve Louise Arb, Lyndon; a son, Ryan Kirkland, Ottawa; and a brother, Max E. Kirkland, Shepherd, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.
